
CALL FOR ART - FLORILEGIA
An eclectic collection of flower-inspired art.
August 1 - 23, 2025
We’re putting together a group show all about flowers. Real, imagined, abstracted, or wildly reinterpreted, Florilegia is a celebration of all things floral.
Whether your piece features a single bloom or is inspired by the shape, symbolism, or energy of a flower, we want to see it. There are no size requirements, restrictions of medium, or other restraints.
IMPORTANT DATES
Submissions Close: July 15, 2025
Notification Sent by: July 20, 2025
Deliver Artwork(s) by: July 26, 2025
Exhibit On-View: August 1 - 23, 2025
Opening Reception: 6-9pm Friday, August 1, 2025
Closing + Pickup: Saturday, August 23, 2025. The Gallery will be open 12-6pm, with the closing from 12-3pm. Buyers and artists can pick up between 3-6pm, or by appointment the following week.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Email HunchbackGallery@gmail.com with the subject line “Florilegia Submission” and your name.
Please limit your submission to 1-2 pieces. Works can be shared in any format (JPG, PNG, PDF, etc.). For files too large for email, we welcome links - just make sure any privacy is set to “public” so we can check it out.
There’s no fee to apply or participate!
Creations of all sizes and mediums are welcomed, as are works by artists and makers of all backgrounds and levels. The only requirement is that works are inspired by or feature a flower as a core element.

Artists with work selected for Florilegia will be contacted by email by July 20, 2025. That email will also ask you for details about your piece which we’ll need for the show.

Hunchback Gallery’s regular public hours are 12-6pm Saturday, which makes July 26th a natural choice for us. We’ll also be open Wednesday, July 23 for a drawing session 6:30-8:30pm, so you can make something new while you drop off. If that doesn’t work either, we can coordinate with advanced notice.

Hunchback Gallery will facilitate sales and retain 20% of sale price for our services. The remaining 80% will be paid to the artist within 30 days of sale. Set your sale prices accordingly!

2D / wall-mounted work: Please deliver ready to hang. We recommend wire, and can accommodate alternatives as appropriate to your work/process. By delivering ready-to-hang, we don’t have to alter your work in order to display.
3D / sculptural work: Please provide any supports your work will require in order to display properly (and safely!) for the duration of the show.

It doesn’t have to be, but we prefer that work be available for purchase.

Attendance at the August 1st opening isn’t required, but we hope you’ll share this show with your audience, and we’d love to see you at some point! A couple public options include the closing August 23rd and creative events during the run of the show (dates and details TBA).

If your piece sells, we’ll let you know promptly. If it doesn’t, works can be picked up as early as 3-6pm August 23rd. If you can’t make that, we’ll reach out to coordinate pickup or may ask to hang on to select works a little longer.
