Creepin’ It Real

A Halloween-inspired group show.

October 9 - November 1, 2025

Send us your spooky, weird, witchy, or haunted works. There are no size requirements, restrictions of medium, or other restraints.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Submissions Close: September 11

  • Notification Sent by: September 20

  • Deliver Artwork(s): September 29 - October 4

  • Exhibit On-View: October 9 - November 1

  • Opening Reception: 6-9pm Thursday, October 9, 2025

  • Closing + Pickup: Saturday, November 1, 2025. The Gallery will be open 12-6pm, with an informal closing from 12-3pm. Buyers and artists can pick up between 3-6pm, or by appointment the following week.

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

Email HunchbackGallery@gmail.com with the subject line “Creep Call” and your name.

Please limit your submission to 1-2 pieces. Works can be shared in any format (JPG, PNG, PDF, etc.). For files too large for email, we welcome links - just make sure any privacy is set to “public” so we can check it out.

There’s no fee to apply or participate!

Creations of all sizes and mediums are welcomed, as are works by artists and makers of all ages, backgrounds, and levels. The only requirement is that works are inspired by, or feature, an element related to the spooky season.

Additional Info

  • Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Artists with work selected for Creepin’ It Real will be contacted by email by September 20, 2025. That email will include delivery instructions and some questions about your work that you can answer online before delivering.

  • The delivery window is September 29-October 4. During that time, Hunchback Gallery will be open to the public:

    October 2, 6:30-8:30p • Zine Night (theme TBD, feel free to join in!)

    October 4, 12-6p • Open Gallery Hours

    If your work is selected but neither time works, we’re happy to coordinate with advanced notice.

    Note: the above is based on our schedule as of July 25, which may need to change. Don’t panic - if selected, we’ll email you a notice and updated delivery instructions by September 20.

  • Hunchback Gallery will facilitate sales and retain 30% of sale price for our services. The remaining 70% will be paid to the artist within 30 days of sale. Set your sale prices accordingly!

  • 2D / wall-mounted work: Please deliver ready to hang. We recommend wire, and can accommodate alternatives as appropriate to your work/process. By delivering ready-to-hang, we don’t have to alter your work in order to display.

    3D / sculptural work: Please provide any supports your work will require in order to display properly (and safely!) for the duration of the show.

  • It doesn’t have to be, but we prefer that work be available for purchase.

  • Attendance at the October 9 opening isn’t required, but we hope you’ll share this show with your audience, and we’d love to see you at some point! A couple public options include:

    October 11, 12-6p: Open Studios (many creatives at 75 Webster open their doors)

    October 15, 6-8p: Doodle Buds (a BYO art supplies / creative hangout)

    November 1: The Gallery will be open 12-6pm, with an informal closing from 12-3pm. Buyers and artists can pick up between 3-6pm, or by appointment the following week.

  • If your piece sells, we’ll let you know promptly. If it doesn’t, works can be picked up as early as 3-6pm November 1. If you can’t make that, we’ll reach out to coordinate pickup, or may ask to hang on to select works a little longer.
